DOLLARVILLE, MI

Dollarville Michigan is a place that has a historic past in the lumber industry of the Upper Peninsula. Beginning in the 1880s during the lumber boom, Dollarville was named after Robert Dollar, a man whose ambition matched the towering trees that once covered the region. Back then, the community pulsed with activity as sawmills turned timber into prosperity, and trains ferried goods and dreams to distant destinations.

But as the lumber faded, so did Dollarville’s bustling spirit. What remains today is a hauntingly peaceful ghost town, where traces of its vibrant past peek out from nature's reclaiming touch. The nearby Dollarville Flooding on the Tahquamenon River offers a tranquil retreat for anglers and hunters, while the unmarked trails promise quiet moments of reflection amid Michigan's untamed beauty.
