Marquette Michigan has the convenience of the city but also offers the wilderness and tranquility that the Upper Peninsula is known for.

Home of Northern Michigan University, the Superior Dome, Marquette General, and Presque Isle Park, Marquette Michigan holds many opportunities for the vacationer, student, or career seeker.

The Marquette area has 12 nearby beautiful waterfalls to explore and 6 lighthouses to see including the well known Stannard Rock Lighthouse that is about 45 mile out from Marquette on Lake Superior. Many all season activities in the Marquette area include, snowmobiling, fishing from the boat, shore, or shanty, skiing, camping, biking, hiking, sight seeing, and miles of sandy beaches.

Explore the forests of Marquette County and you may just spot the elusive moose. The Moose Reintroduction Program relocated 61 moose to the Marquette area in 1985 and 1987. Michigan's goal is to maintain a self-sustaining population of free ranging moose. You can most likely see moose in the early mornings or just before dusk around their normal feeding ground where there is an abundance of aquatic vegetation.
